      I was able to overcome a timing issue in my last project where a test was usually taking 24 hours I was able to come up with a way to do the test in 15 minutes.

      The last problem I had was making a flexible tube to mimic the oesophagus, the tube where the food you swallow goes. Previously the model had been a straight open cylinder but in real life this isn’t the case. If everyone’s oesophagus was open all the time we would look kinda funny! Our oesophagus is usually closed and opens when we swallow. I designed a tube that expanded and collapsed like the human one does to make the simulator robot more realistic.

      The main problem for me is identifying a way to quickly create the design. Even though it’s a great design, it doesn’t matter if you can’t actually apply it to something else easily. That’s what I’m working through now!

      Recently, I was involved in the development of a wristwatch-based sensor device for wireless health monitoring (such as body temperature, blood pressure, heartbeat, blood oxygen level, etc.) of patients.
      For such an application, generally, the 2.45 GHz frequency band is used. However, I demonstrated that if we use a lower frequency band (915 MHz in my case), an increased wireless communication range can be achieved.
      Furthermore, I developed a 915 MHz wearable antenna and compared the wireless communication range with a commercial 2.45 GHz wristwatch device (Fitbit Charge 3). Through the experiments, I showed that communications at 915 MHz have approximately four times more wireless range than the Fitbit Charge 3 wristwatch device.
