• Question: What inspires you to do your job? Have you ever gotten sick of your job? Do you feel your job will become more powerful in the future? Has engineering thought you anything you didn't know before? Do you ever think of getting an easier job? How many years did it take you to become what you are now? How many hours do you work a day? How long does it take to make a robot and test it? Why did you become an engineer? Whats your favorite color? Do you have any plans for the future?, Thank you!

I want to help people and that inspires me to my job everyday. Sometimes the job can be frustrating when the design isn’t working out. Biomedical engineers are very important for the future health and treatment for patients. Engineering has taught me a lot about communication. Everyday I have to communicate not only with other engineers, but business people, entrepreneurs, doctors, surgeons and academics. Everyone thinks differently so I need to be able to communicate effectively with everyone. I wouldn’t change my job for anything. I did 4 years undergraduate degree in UL and then 5 years for a PhD and I’ve been working for about 2-3 years. I work 8 hours a day, Mon-Fri. The length of time to build a robot can vary depending on what you need it to do. I became an engineer because I liked maths, science and art in school and wanted a career that embodied all these subjects. My fave colour is yellow 🙂 For the future I’d love to have my own research group and design a device that helps people all over the world. I’d love to work primarily in women’s health and design devices to help new mums.
