I’ve finished University but right now I’m working on orthopaedics and doing a part-time course on Medical Device Science. It’s a lot of biology and chemistry so has been a big change from my previous jobs in manufacturing!

I’m finished studying, but I did Biomedical Engineering in University of Limerick and then did a PhD in Biomedical Engineering in Galway Mayo Institute of Technology. My PhD focused on strokes, which is when there isn’t enough oxygen getting to the brain because something has caused the blood flow to stop. I was studying blood clots that cause strokes in older people because their hearts don’t work properly.
